Time Is The Enemy: 1917

1917 is one of those movies that is necessary every few years in the movie theater. something so unique and also so familiar. This movie from the description alone got me super interested in it. April 6th, 1917. As a regiment assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory, two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap. That description was literally copied and pasted from IMDB. This movie sounded epic to start off. I'm a big movie lover by the way. When I found out that this movie was suppose to look like it was shot in one take, that completely won me over. One movie that I give a lot a praise for is "Birdman". That's another movie that was meant to look like one shot. Another thing that won me over was the director Sam Mendes who directed "Skyfall". Going into this movie I had huge expectations. Those expectations were absolutely met. From the score, acting, editing, story telling, and direction, this movie is gorgeous. You follow these two very real characters through an incredible journey. There are a lot of emotions the viewer goes through as well. Cinematography is the true highlight of the film but the story is epic as well. This movie deserves all the praise it has been getting in the press and even the Oscars. I totally recommend everyone to check it out.
