There is something about this movie that makes me just smile every time I just talk about it. It’s one of those movies that has a special place in my heart. I think the reason why is because it’s so thought provoking and a great piece of cinema. Jordan Peele is an absolute master mind when it came to making this movie. This is as near perfect as a movie can be. This movie has so much social commentary and it is told on such a smart and intelligent way. The movie is entertaining as hell. It is one of the wildest rides you ever see on a screen. So many hidden meanings and easter eggs throughout this film make rewatching this movie so much fun. A movie that will be discussed in film classes for years and years. This was his first film as a director as well and you can say that he knocked it out of the park with this one. The movie had a budget of 4.5 million dollars and has made over 176 million in the United States alone. In my opinion this movie set the standard for future horror movies. I will not share in spoilers in this review but I will say that this movie contains no useless scenes. Everything that happens in the movie either has something to do with the overall topic or a hint of what is about to come. This is one of the best written movies that I have ever watched. Daniel Kaluuya plays a great protagonist and has one of the best performances of that year as well. The Oscars did not give a lot of love to this movie because of its subject matter but trust me when I say that it is the best picture of 2017.
